A design system
that scales
with the product.
What we made.
Zenaxiom is a multi-surface SaaS platform — block pages, jobs, lists, and a deep design system. We carry it across 28 source files and a shared token layer.
The design work runs in lockstep with engineering: every component is designed, documented and shipped together so the product stays internally consistent as it grows.
What had to be true.
When a product has this many surfaces, drift is the real enemy. The brief was to build the kind of design system that gets used by default — not the kind that ends up bypassed under deadline pressure.
The system has to make the right thing the easy thing. Every shortcut a designer or engineer takes should land them on the canonical pattern.
How we worked.
We co-located design tokens, Figma variables and code variables under a single source of truth — change one, the rest follow.
Every component shipped with usage guidelines and at least one canonical example. Patterns earn their place by being used three times before becoming part of the system.
What shipped.
- 0128 source files, one shared token layer, no visual drift between surfaces.
- 02New product surfaces ship in days, not weeks — the system carries 80% of the work.
- 03Designers and engineers reach for the system by default, not the blank canvas.
“Our design system is the reason we can ship as quickly as we do. New surfaces feel native to the platform on day one — there's no expensive consistency pass at the end.”
